The competitions of the 2025 Qatar Men’s and Women’s Chess Cup Championships concluded after being held from 7 to 13 September 2025 at the Chess Training Center, with remarkable participation from elite Qatari male and female players.
Qatar Men’s Chess Cup
The championship featured 22 players, who competed over 7 rounds using the Swiss system and a unique time control of 45 minutes + 30 seconds per move — a time format being applied for the first time globally in this event, adding a new level of excitement and challenge to the game. This step reflects the Association’s unwavering commitment to developing modern, precise, and dynamic models for competitive play, inspiring hope for the future of chess.

Qatar Women’s Chess Cup
Held during the same period, the women’s championship featured 8 Qatari players. It showcased intense competition among the country’s top talents, a testament to the growing strength of the local chess scene.
